Contorted Flowering Quince

Chaenomeles speciosa ‘Contorta’

Gorgeous pink flowers cover this unusually contorted 2-3′ tall shrub in the very early spring. Cut branches can be brought indoors in late winter to bloom. The twisted form is striking in the winter landscape, when the unusual shape of the branches can be fully appreciated. While it will set fruit if a different Chaenomeles speciosa variety is nearby, the fruit is considered of poor quality. It’s the flowers and form that really makes this quince bush shine!

One of the few quince reliably resistant to fireblight.
